Ingredients

  • 1 15-oz can cannellini beans

  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

  • 2 cloves garlic

  • 2 teaspoons dried sage

  • 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce

  • 1-2 sprigs fresh thyme

  • 1-2 tablespoons Pantala's Cairo Dukkah Nut & Spice Blend

  • 2-3 green onions, chopped, for garnish

  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • Step 1:

Heat olive oil in medium saucepan over medium heat. Sauté garlic and sage in hot oil until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add beans; cook and stir until beans absorb the aroma of garlic and sage.

  • Step 2:

Pour in tomato sauce and add sprigs of thyme; bring to a simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, until beans are soft but not mushy, 10 to 15 minutes. If needed, add a little water to keep sauce from burning. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

  • Step 3:

Upon serving, sprinkle with Pantala's Cairo and garnish with green onions. Enjoy!
