Dukkah (pronounced doo-kah) hails from ancient Egypt and is a concoction of toasted nuts, seeds and spices.
Our own special recipe has an earthy but vaguely sweet flavor (thanks to the pistachios) and just enough crunch
to create a tantalizing texture. Certain flavors jump out – fennel, coriander, almond – and others such as lemon peel and dried mint lurk in the background adding depth and interest.
How do you use it?
The classic preparation is to dunk crusty bread in olive oil and then in dukkah. We love to mix Pantala Mediterranean Fusion with hummus and sprinkle dukkah on top. Wow!
Dukkah is magic dust – scatter it over vegetables, stir it into couscous, use it as a coating for fish instead of boring bread crumbs. Hard boiled eggs? Absolutely. Check our recipe page for more ideas and inspiration.
